The famous actress Deniz Cakir risks being sentenced from six month to one year in prison for “woman’s” public humiliation. The 37-year-old actress ,known as Merjem of the “Great Family” series ,is accused of insulting some covered women in a shopping center.
Everything happened on December 30 ,2018.Cakir was drinking alcohol at a cafe where she suspected that the covered woman by the adjacent desk were taking pictures of her.
In the debates that followed , the staff of the shopping center were also included.There is were she was accused of insulting the covered woman by saying: ” This is the state of Ataturk , not Saudi Arabia.This is not your country , go to Arabia .In this charge , the prosecution demands the punishment of the actress for ” public humiliation of a part of the population on social,class,gender,religious,and provincial grounds ” with a sentence of 6 month to 1 year.
In her testimony, Cakir said her entire life was against any form of discrimination , but in this case she thought woman had the bad purpose. When she mentioned the state of Arabia , she said she was talking to her friends on her desk , not womens. ” Even the drinks we drink in cafeteria , even the shots we take , are seen with bias. This is not Arabia , this is Ataturk Turkey” – claims Cakir eho denies the allegations .
